Kirk CookB.Kin., C.Ped(C)
Kirk is a Certified Pedorthist and has been working at Winpo since 2018. Kirk has been involved with the running community in Winnipeg for years to the point he recognized those in his neighborhood by their walk or running gait. In 2008 Kirk decided to follow that interest and begin to pursue his interest in the aspects of gait and movement in general. With that interest in gait he discovered he wanted to share this knowledge to help people with the use of exercise, proper insoles and footwear.
The interest in gait and movement is the key motivator for Kirk allowing him to meet the challenge of each patient’s goal. Whether it’s to help manage a person’s chronic disease with appropriate footwear; aiding them at work with a supportive orthoses; or being part of the solution to get a person back to an active lifestyle, Kirk strives to help the patient achieve their goal.
Kirk is a member of the Manitoba Runners Association, which helps him keep motivated to run and continue watching a variety of people run as part of their passion. Kirk attends on a regular basis Pedorthic Association conferences and participates in a variety of educational opportunities with topics as in osteoarthritis and gait analysis.
When Kirk isn’t at work he can be found enjoying summer activities as in cycling, running and tennis but when it gets cold he can still be found running outside along with trying to master the game of curling.
