To our WinPO clients, family, and friends,
WinPO will remain open with limited services and access starting March 23, 2020 until further notice, due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
The Public Health authority is advising everyone practice social distancing and reduce non-essential services by allied health organizations, WinPO is doing its part. Starting March 23, 2020 WinPO will begin a “split-shift” where employees have been divided into two groups and each group will be working every other day in order to minimize the number of people in the clinic at one time. Staff will be having regular conference calls to insure that all relevant information is shared between shifts.
Although our clinic will remain open we will be providing reduced service which will limit access to only essential Prosthetic or Orthotic care. Essential Prosthetic and Orthotic care includes care that; reduces pain, allows you to progress with your new prosthesis or orthosis, provide repairs of prostheses or orthoses, etc. We will work with all care providers and patients to determine the best way to proceed. These are unprecedented times and your safety and care is most important.
If you require immediate care please call our office number at 204.233.3942. If no one answers please bear with us and leave a message, as we will be short staffed.
If your appointment has been canceled a member of our staff will reach out to you to reschedule this appointment. If you are concerned and feel that this appointment is essential please let us know or contact us immediately and we will work to find a solution for you.
If you have questions about an upcoming appointment please call 204.233.3942 and a member of our staff will be available to assist you. If you would like to email any questions to your practitioner please click here for your practitioner's email address.
For any essential appointments, health and safety precautions include:
Two stage screening of clients
This will entail a preliminary screening of clients and families over the phone prior to the appointment. All doors will remain locked with doorbell access and a personal greeting. If you have a scheduled appointment you will be allowed to enter the building. If an appointment has not been scheduled a card with our contact info will be handed out in order to schedule one. Upon arrival at our clinic, we will again ask if you are showing symptoms or whether you have just returned from international travel. Anyone who has recently traveled to areas with active travel advisories, or are displaying symptoms is required to self quarantine for 14 days and reschedule their appointments. WinPO staff members are also complying with this recommendation from Public Health.
Increased sanitization protocols during client interactions
Staff will wash and sanitize their hands, tools, and any surfaces you touch before and after your visit. Rooms will be thoroughly sanitized after each client visit. All clients/persons entering our clinic will be required to wash and sanitize their hands prior to being seen. Please use the washroom adjacent to the reception area. As information is released from the government and public health units, we are updating our health and safety protocols to ensure compliance with the current recommendations.
For up-to-date recommendations from Health Canada, please refer to their website for prevention and risks information:
